I was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1971. Growing up in a closely knit family of six, we lived in Pennsylvania and New Jersey when I was a young child before our family settled for years in Toledo, Ohio. I attended St. Patrick’s of Heatherdowns Elementary School before graduating from Notre Dame Academy in 1989. I then went on to graduate from the University of Toledo in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

In 1993, I relocated to Pennsylvania to rejoin my family who had already moved out east. I was working as an Adult Probation and Parole Officer in Chester County when I met my fellow coworker and future husband, Scott Simpson. We married and relocated when Scott became a police officer in Delaware and recently celebrated our 10th anniversary. We are now the proud parents of three wonderful boys, Christopher (9), Sean (7) and Ryan (4).

Beth and I have always been close as sisters but with time, we’ve become even better friends. Our families love spending time together and we have unending memories of laughter and fun. It was during these years of growing closer that Beth and I dreamed of writing together. After Beth’s son, Evan, was born in 2006, we decided to start writing our first book. We’ve enjoyed spending so much time reading to our own kids that we couldn’t wait to create a children’s story of our own. After countless hours of both hard work and laughter, we are thrilled to see our first book, Hiccup Hop, in print. We plan to continue writing together for years and hope to see many more of our stories come to life.
